Course 9 Activity 6: Share Your Thoughts
To assess the child on number operations, a teacher frames a question paper at the end of the lesson with multiple choice questions only. Another teacher divides the concept of number operations into smaller sub-units and observes how the child responds to activities designed for each sub-unit. The teacher maintains a file of each child's sample work done in that unit in a portfolio and uses it to write the report looking at their portfolio. Which strategy would you like to adopt in your class and why?

The Strategy to be followed......
ReplyDeleteNumbers and Number Operations method may be applied.
ReplyDeleteThree types like Cardinal,Ordinal and Nominal.
The key skills that come under this category are number sense, reading of symbols, writing words and symbols.
Ofcourse, i would like to adopt the multiple choice strategy because according to me it is the best technique to assess a child after completion of particular lesson. It benefits the child and teachers to get better time to revise and gives time for extra preparation.
ReplyDeleteI would like to go with the MCQs. It is a good technique to assess the learning outcomes of the child.

After completion of the lesson assessing the children using MCQ as well as interactive sessions will be best for me. It will help to gauge how well they have understood and how much they have learnt. This will help both the teacher and student in building a better learning environment.
ReplyDeleteWe should adopt the strategy in class for assessing number operations as per the child level of nature and understandings.MCQs as well as other methods must be applied for assessment.

ReplyDeleteI Would like to adopt other method provided by teacher because here we can see the efforts that one is providing in order to clear the concept of one child ins the fields of operations.lt also maintains a file of each child sample work done and responds to the activities of the particular child. Also ignoring the fact that it is a lengthy process but patience is required for both teacher and the students for the better understanding. Thus I'd like to conclude that by this we can observed the weakness of a child hence leading to better understanding of the concept.

ReplyDeleteMultiple choice questions will be the best to assess the child because through this teachers could easily understand that how much child understand about mathematics..do they understand the concepts what actually wanted to make them understand..
ReplyDeleteGo through the MCQ is the best technique/method must be applied for the benefits of the child assessment to learning outcome,
ReplyDeleteRo assess the child Multiple choice questions will be the best because through this teachers could easily understand that how much child understand about mathematics..Are their concept clear,?do they understand what is being tried to be tought?
ReplyDeleteI will adopt the second strategy. In this strategy, the childs knowledge of different sub-concepts is assessed separately and that is used to prepare a report on students' learning. This helps us identify the learning gaps better and we can work to address those.
