Course 10-Activity 1: Share Your Ideas
Considering your classroom practices, state three ways in which you conduct several assessment practices? Are these practices planned, designed and implemented by yourself or are these structured at different levels and assigned to you by the school authorities or board of education? Suppose you want to change these existing assessment strategies then suggest an alternative way you plan and implement on your own and it is not directed from the higher authorities.

Classroom practices through orientation method
ReplyDeleteAs per the directives of the authority, I have designed three levels which helps me a lot to teach students in particular and others as a whole.

I have introduced several assessment practices among students in my classes for science subject for classes VIII and X like:: 1. Classroom quiz between boys and girls for a chapter with optional questions. 2. extempore speech on a part of lesson like autotrophic nutrition, heterotrophic nutrition.... 3. collecting materials from environment like algae,fungi,bryophytes,pteridophytes.... 4. Showing permanant slide to identify stomata, xylem, phloem and different types of cell and tissues. 5. Reding a particular part of lesson which is important for exams -- by boys and asked questions to girls to get answers and vice-versa, so that a little bit competition among students will create to get correct answers of that questions.
ReplyDeleteI use both types as teachings aids.Realising that some are basics and critically structured .The self structured tend to get more attention and focus of Students and that in turn satisfies me a lot.

ReplyDeleteTo assess students performance I regularly check and encourage student to make self note of everyday class at home. Homeworks are neccessary to know how much self study they are doing at home. Apart from this I regularly conduct quiz and presentations in class.

ReplyDeleteTo asses the students performance it is important to asses their learning outcomes every now and then. For this i normally conduct class tests , quiz, debates sessions etc.

Assessing students performance, I basically use pen paper tests, oral and sometimes through activities. Written tests are directed by the authorities. I feel for assessing the students, there should not be any limitations..
