With the countrywide lockdown in India extending till 3rd May, almost all the countries across the globe are imposing a strick lockdown. We are in the midst of a global pandemic right now and there is no denying that fear and anxiety about the spread of a disease can be incredibly overwhelming. While reaction may vary from person to person, it is important to remember that whatever may be feeling right now, it is absolutely valid.
ReplyDeleteWith the rising number of Coronavirus fatalities and positive cases, it is honestly difficult to stay hopeful and positive. So if you feel that there is a lot going on and you are not able to process it positively, take a step back while there is no wrong or right way to deal with the situation in hand, remember it is totally natural to feel hopeless and frustrated at the circumstances.
With the extension of lockdown in India it can be even more difficult time for those living away from the comfort of their homes. It is important to be kinder on yourself and remind yourself that you are dealing with the situation in the best way possible.
During the lockdown I was so worried and in panic I could not understand 🙊what to do. Whenever I saw and heard the news related to Corona Virus I came in tension. Gradually I cope with the situation.

During the period of lockdown I underwent various emotional experiences like stress, fear, anxiety etc.Initially I couldn't meet my family and friends due to the lockdown. But the time passed on I could overcome with all those emotions by sharing with family and friends with positive thinking.I understood how to tackle the covid-19 pandemic fearlessly and create free anxiety environment within the family and the society.
ReplyDeleteWith the countrywide lockdown in a bid to contain the novel coronavirus made me realise that our lives will continue to change for a while and we may need to rebuild our lives around this new normalcy. In midst of a global pandemic right now there is no denying that fear and anxiety have locked us indoor. Sitting and staring at the four walls of my room unable to do anything but to watch news relating to the pandemic and people dying across the globe and even hearing the loss of my loved ones, a whole lot of emotions crossed me. But as time passed I knew I had to get over these negative emotions or else I would get into depression. So, I decided to live a regimented and healthy lifestyle and got myself an e-bike and I also started yoga and physiotherapy for my knee which had undergone surgery. Also, to be productive and helpful, the first thing I did was to donate in PM CARES. I also kept myself busy by reading a lot of books and carrying out my NISHTHA training. I also took online classes and learned to cook many dishes and also cooked for people in need which gave me some sense of satisfaction. The lockdown not only changed my perspective on life, I started valuing not just my life but the life’s of others and that's what made me more humane.
ReplyDeleteI experienced lots of things during the pandemic, because I saw this pandemic first time in my life, like social distancing, put mask, lock down in 4x4 room with my family sharing and caring together. In this locked down I feel that the environment of the earth is so clean fresh because the pollution rate is decreased during locked down after a decade.

ReplyDeleteThe lockdown was a very challenging change in our lives especially in the initial stages with lost of uncertainty and lack of proper information at the national level. Based in Pune which was one of the cities with the largest spike in cases it was unnerving to say the least. Thanks to being part of the armed forces fraternity and serving across various challenging terrains, places and facing challenges frequently we got hold of ourselves emotionally. teaching children is a very satisfying activity as it is , but it was made more difficult due to the new circumstances of staying at home and imparting on-line education. Once we got our act all right after a few hits and misses, the on-line teaching experience was very fulfilling and enjoyable too. Running the household cooking and teaching left me with little time for any worry. it was nice to have my husband and daughter at home to help me with their little involvement. yes we took adequate care to speak to each other sit and have meals togethers and chat ...that was very very enjoyable indeed and the anxiety and emotional stress wore off rather quickly. I also helped people like our maids with support financially and with ration etc, and that was also very satisfying as a person. Together we as a family and society came through this emotional challenge rather peacefully!
ReplyDeleteAnxiety and mental agony overwhelmed the whole environment. However we managed to overcome depressing emotions by sharing positive thoughts among family members.

Got to spend a lot more time with family.

ReplyDeleteIn the initial days of nation wide lock down from the last part of March, 2020 due to covid-19 there were fear psychosis, social stigma, anxiety, etc. with feeling of insecurity even from the beloved returnees. Not only these, I felt very much angry over the students, businessmen, tourist, etc. those who have been to Wuhan city of China, the epicenter of Covid-19 and brought the deadly virus to India. Secondly, I also felt angry over the initial management of the Govt. of India to diagnose returnees for Covid-19 and its containment. Thirdly, the pain and hardships of intra-state or multi state returnees such as students, patients and migrant labours touched me deeply. ReplyDeleteThe experience of emotion is a fundamental part of human consciousness. Think for example, of how different our conscious lives would be without such experiences as joy, anger, fear, disgust, pity, anxiety and embarrassment. It is uncontroversial that these experiences typically have an intentional content.
ReplyDeleteDuring the period of lock down due to covid-19 , l was completely surprised and due to sudden change in our dailly routine and dailly life I was shocked for a while and needed to rebuild our lives around the new normalcy. There was no denying that the fear and anxiety about the spread of disease can be incredibly overwhelming.
When we can feel that we are less positive about self -isolation, but we are determined to keep going and stick to our routine and have a schedule to help us to manage the situation.
We experience times where we are more productive, and times that we are less productive, and alternate between moments of satisfaction and periods of frustration.
When we start struggling and feeling "this is hard ".Boredom might settle in. Our routine or lack of routine might not be working for us anymore. We might experience restless that makes it difficult to concentrate. We miss going out and seeing friends and love ones. We might feel demotivated, hopeless, or feel a sense of despair.
We might experience anger about the situation, the confinement, and get easily irritated by others in our household .
When we accept the situation for what it is and carry on during whatever is in our control and letting go of what is not in our control.
Remembering that this move to self -isolatewas necessary and that we were serving humanity and the greter good to help prevent more sickness and death.
The following ways which I adopted to cope up with those emotional experiences -------
Setting aside time to take care of our body, mind and spirit. Exercise, hobbies and prayer or meditation tend to bring positive emotions for young and old alike, and for those living alone or with other.
By helping others, crises provide ample opportunities for kindness. I donated face masks and other equipment to health care workers. I donated much needed blood, bought groceries and other necessities for elderly and high risk neighbours.
By using social media like Facebook, Twitter etc. These would had been very important for staying connection while physically distanced.
After a few days, I met my friends and relatives face to face using mask and by maintaining social distance.
