Environmental Studies is an integrated discipline as it is related to all aspects of the environment and its components. It not only defines the importance of the environment, but also relates to the other factors, components like raw materials and resources, geographical area, weather etc. that make exsistence and life on earth possible.
One simple example can be put as, the relation of COVID19 pandemic and the health issues is directly related to the pollution we humans do.
Environmental studies is a multidisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. Environmental studies connectes principles from the physical sciences, commerce/economics, the humanities and social sciences to address complex contemporary environmental issues. Students in environmental studies gain the intellectual and methodological tools to understand and address the crucial environmental issues of our time and the impact of individual, society and the planet.
Environmental studies is an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates physical, biological and information sciences to the study of the environment and the solution of Environmental problems. Environmental studies teaching at Primary school helps the Students to understand the importance of developing good habits and hygiene. The students develops creativity, observational and innovative qualities in a students.
Environmental studies is an integrated discipline as it's give all the important aspect of human life and knowledge that we need to know and go through all aspects.it help our students to understand the value of living things and non living things and so on.as this subject include political, history, physic,Geo ...and so on..so it's one of the best subject which a student can get all knowledge and value of the society.
Environmental studies is an integrated discipline as it's one of the subject through which astuda st can learn many things such as the society, pol political science, history and many more.it give the knowledge about day today life and the value of the environmental development..etc.it is one of the subject where student can learn not only environmen but also different aspects and also help our students to know the value of society and the balance of the environment.
Environmental studies is the interdiscipline studies, also its study large aspect of the environment, in this subject human related value are importantly.
Environmental studies and environmental management tends to focus on how society interact with the environment. The human beings must have friendly relation with the environment for its longer and better survival. Environmental studies is a multidisciplinary academic field which should be systematically. Environmental studies connect principles from the physical science, Economics, humanities etc. It maintain relationships between human beings and natural environment.Environment gives knowledge how to maintain better relationships with the environment because, if human beings misuse of Environmental things directly effect to the human beings. For example cutting down forest and construction of dam on the river can significantly impact environmental health and society. It is said that sustainable development is only possible when we maintain the discipline with the environment.
Environment study is a subject of multidisciplinary and multidimensional approach. EVS integrates and comprises the concepts and issues of science (natural and physical), social studies (natural,physical,socio-culture,socio-economic)and environment education. One example is' Green Yatra' , its a plantation program. NGOs and Govt. of India implement such environment protection schemes and environment awareness campaigns as well.
Environmental studies is based on environmental aspect. Through this studies learner could learns awareness comprise the concept of the science as well.
Environmental studies is a multi-disciplinary field integrating disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science, atmospheric science, mathematics and geography. It refer to organised efforts to teach how natural environments functions and particularly how human beings can manage behaviour and ecosystem to live sustainably. Environmental studies develop awareness about the environment and its problems.
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates physical, biological and information sciences (including ecology, biology, physics, chemistry, plant science, zoology, mineralogy, oceanography, limnology, soil science, geology and physical geography, and atmospheric science) to the study of the environment, and the solution of environmental problems. Environmental science emerged from the fields of natural history and medicine during the Enlightenment.Today it provides an integrated, quantitative, and interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental systems.
Evs is interdisciplinary subjects which combines together to impart the knowledge on socio, politics, human resource, geography ,anthropology, etc. It has great importance for today's world. One best example is pandemic (covid-19)where science and environmental studies combines together to study the disease .
Environmental studies deals with every issue that effects an organism. It is a multidisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment in the interests of solving complex problems. The scope of environmental studies is very wide and it deals with many areas like - i) conservation of natural resources ii) ecological aspects iii) pollution of the surrounding natural resources iv) controlling the pollution v) social issues connected to it vi) impact of human population on the environment. Our daily lives are linked with our surrounding and inevitably affects them. Our dependence on nature is so great that we cannot continue to live without protecting the earth's environment resources.
Enviromental Studies that is envisaged in the National Curriculum Framework 2005 for classes III to V is an integration of the concepts and issues of science snd social studies and enviroment education. The issues and concerns related to EVS are meant to be part of language and mathematics. Through the teaching of EVS,the children are exposed to the real situations in their sorrounding to help them connect,be aware of,appreciate and sensitized towards the prevailing enviromental issues. We can take the example of Pollution and its impacts. We can teach the children about declining forest areas due urbanisation or human civilization and cutting of trees for the purpose and its impacts on enviroment. We can teach them about declining oxygen level and increasing level of carbondioxide which is the major causes for enviromental pollution which has direct effects on human health.
Environmental Studies is an integrated discipline as it is related to all aspects of the environment and its components. It not only defines the importance of the environment, but also relates to the other factors, components like raw materials and resources, geographical area, weather etc. that make existence and life on earth possible.
One simple example can be put as, the relation of COVID19 pandemic and the health issues is directly related to the pollution we humans do.
EVS is an integrated discipline as we found all the aspects which are important in our daily life in this subject. For example the topic of water in class iii to class v it gradually widens the meaning and uses and all the aspect which is important for understanding it in children. It also includes all the subjects as well.
Integrated EVS: As stated by the National Curriculum Framework (2005), “Environmental studies for primary class should be a subject, which combines and circumscribes the concepts and theories from science, social science, and environment”. Environmental studies are not taught at a very primary level (classes I and II) but the concept which is important to know at that stage of life is taught through language, mathematics, and poems.
National curriculum framework (2005) suggested that in environmental studies at the primary level there should be no place for definitions, facts, and meagre information. Children should be provided with opportunities to express, learn by doing, asking questions, and experiment. Language to be used in the book should not be formal, but it should be such that children can understand it easily.
EVS books should contain chapters made out of real-life incidents, everyday challenges, and present-day issues related to petrol, fuel water, forest, protection of animals, pollution, etc. The books of EVS should provide children’s opportunities to debate, engage, and develop a sensitive understanding of these topics.
The syllabus of EVS has been divided into six themes so as to introduce every aspect of learning which is considered important for the child at the primary level.
The six themes are:
Family and friends (including animals, plants) Food Water Shelter Travel Things we make and do. Integrated EVS has a goal of comprehensive development of an individual's social, physical, and emotional perspective
Environmental studies is a multi disciplinary academic field. Which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. It not only defines the importance of environment but also tells us how to preserve it. It tells us the values of our forest, mountains, rivers, lakes etc.

certainly Environmental Studies is a integral subject of all subjects. It encompasses socio-culture, socio-economic, geographical location, languages, social behaviour and so on. For eg. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or clean India mission. This mission is based on hygiene and sanitation of our country. This mission is enacted to mitigate soil pollution, water pollution and air pollution and to create a healthy environment.

Environmental studies consist of the sum of all the physical and biological factors that directly influence the survival, growth, development, and reproduction of organism. Its relation with so many subjects and realms make its scope wide. Some example of Environmental studies are: -Natural Resource Sustentation and Enviromental Management. -In Industry. -Research and Development. -In Human Health and Sanitation. -In Social Development.
Our education policy is framed as per learning hierarchy of the children. For e.g. class, 5 EVS, Super Senses. While teaching this topic, we keep in mind that class room should be learner-centered and participatory.synchronization of cognitive, psycho-motor and affective. Procurement of Teaching management system and teaching tools like CCE, and other academic activities are carried out for School based assessment and holistic approach and learning outcome of the students. Therefore,it is related
The Environment consists of the sum of all the physical and biological factors that directly influence, the survival, growth development and reproduction of organisms. Environmental studies will make the child aware of the environment in the early stages, so he can contribute to society in a worthwhile manner. World peace and harmony is not possible without environmental Education, the human race is a product of the interaction between man and his environment, which can be broadly categories into natural environment and socio cultural or man made environment.
Environmental studies envisages exposing children to the real situations in their surroundings to help them connect their immediate surroundings including natural, physical, social and cultural settings .By learning EVS children acquire knowledge, skills dispositions so that they become sensitive and responsible to their immediate surroundings. For example "water-"a natural resource.they understand water,it is very essential for all living things to Know the worth of precious water which is hardly present. Thus is required by all the living organisms whether plants and animals. It thus built an integrated discipline towards one.
Yes, it an integrated subject where we can integrate biological science with history, geography etc. For example we can biodiversity of Himalayas region with it's geography.
Environment study is a subject of multidisciplinary and multidimensional approach. Environment studies is as integrated discipline that in the National curriculum Framework (2005)views EVS in class III to V as a subject, which integrates the concepts and issues of Science ( natural and physical), social studies (natural, physical, socio cultural) and environment education. In order to reduce curriculum on young learners, it has not been recommend as a separate curricular areas in class I and II , instead the issues and concerns related to it are meant to be part of language and mathematics. EVS at the primary stage envisages exposing children to the real situation in their surroundings to help them connect, be aware of, appreciate and be sensitized towards the prevailing environmental issues. Beginning with the child's immediate surroundings (including natural, physical, social and cultural settings) related to self, home, family and school in the early grades and gradually moving on to the wider environment neighbourhood and community at large. Creating learning situations in the context of children is very crucial to learning EVS. Efforts need to be made to avoid giving direct information, definitions and discriptions and instead create situation for children to construct their own knowledge besides the textbook and explore various learning sites other than the classroom. Explore to the real world would give opportunities to children to encounter various social issues such as those of gender bias, marginalisation, child labour, illiteracy, caste and class inequalities in rural and urban areas, challenges of the differently abled or those elderly and sick. It is envisaged that teaching learning of EVS, as a subject will enable children to realize how their dicission and actions affect the environment. It will also help in building knowledge and certain skills necessary to address the challenges they face around them. This will enable children to become advocates and stewards of the environment. Ultimately this will contribute towards building a sustainable future.

Environmental studies is definitely integrated discipline as in the end we all need to take care of our home, which is the environment in a broad sense. Whatever the discipline may be, language or techonology, everyone's root is the environment. It has to be stressed on and be multi disciplinary. Even a little bit of knowledge on the topic can create awareness, and thus be just like a moral education which infact it is.

Environment studies is the subject that shows the importance of our environment, how to take care of it, as well as the importance of a healthy lifestyle of humans and the ways to maintain it. It puts forward the ways to protect the environment with the sources it has, it also helps us to learn to live with a good developing environment.
As an example, we can take the scenario of the glaciers melting, and the rise of sea levels, which is a result of global warming. Now we are learning to reduce the amount of pollution as much as we can by enhancing our knowledge and usage of modern technology.
Environmental studies is an intrageted disciplinary as it sums up all the physical and biological factors that directly influence the survival, growth , development, and reproduction of organisms. It connects the environment with all the organisms living it in.
ENVIRONMENT STUDIES IS A INTEGRATED DISCIPLINE , YES I AGREE.
To understand the world Environmental studies plays a major role. To lead a peaceful life one should have the knowledge of environmentals social and physical aspects.
FOR EXAMPLE; DEFORESTRATION LEADS TO SCARCITY OF RAIN FALL, SCARCITY OF RAINFALL LEADS TO NO AGRICULTURE, NO AGRICULTURE LEADS TO SELLING OF LAND , FOOD SCARCITY, THAT AGAIN LEADS TO BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONS, NO TREES PLANTED NO SPACE, WHICH IN TURN LEADS TO GLOBAL WARMING ,AND GREEN HOUSE EFFECT. THIS IS HOW ENVIRONMENT IS HARMED SO,Children shouldbe given awareness about safety of our ENVIRONMENT through EVS and integrating discipline to live peaceful life.
Environmental studies is an integrated discipline as its give all the important aspects of human life and knowledge that we need to know and go through all aspects. It refer to organised to teach how natural environments functions and how human beings can manage behavior and ecosystem to live sustainably. Plantation programmes (Green Yatra) which is organized by NGOs and Govt. Of India implements protection scheme and environment awareness campaigns is one of the fruitful example of maintain the discipline with the environment.
The environment consists of the sum of all the physical and biological factors that directly influence the survival, growth, development and reproduction of organisms. On the basis of components environment can be divided into two parts i.e., physical environment and biological environment. The studies of such integrative subject which covers all the features of physical as well as biological environment is called environmental studies. Its relation with so many subjects and realms make its scope wide. Environmental studies can be applied to many realms or integrated disciplines. For example, human health, social development, research and development, natural resources sustentation and environmental management. The most important among them is the industry, due to industrialization, our environment has been affected badly. So, in order to protect our environment from further degradation, there is a need to adopt an environment friendly process and technology. In this innovational field of technology, biotechnology has shown good promise. Biotechnology is helpful in other avenues of environmental science also. So, we can say that environmental studies is an integrated discipline.
Environmental studies pull from important topics of current civilization and apply aspects of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, engineering, anthropology, sociology, economics, management, ecology etc.
'Environmental Studies is an integrated discipline' as it integrates the concepts and issues of science (natural and physical), social studies ( natural, physical and socio-cultural) and environment. It helps the students to create awareness about the surrounding and how to protect the environment..

Environmental Studies is an integrative subject because it covers all the features of physical as well as biological environment. It realms with so many subjects combines ideas and information from the natural sciences (biology, chemistry, geology) and the social sciences (economics, ethics, politics). The study of this subject provides a real and direct connection for students between the study of science and the world around them.
'Environmental studies is an integrated discipline'. The National Curriculum Framework (NCF)- 2005 infuses the component of environmental education as part of different discipline at all the stages of school education. For classes 3 to 5 the NCERT has developed EVS syllabus and textbooks integrating Science and Social studies components. For example: Class 3 EVS textbook contains the chapters like; 1. Chapter 1 Poonams Day out
2. Chapter 2 The Plant Fairy
3. Chapter 3 Water o' Water
4. Chapter 4 Our First School... Studying these contents Children not only observe and explore their surroundings such as plants, animals, birds, water, and other objects around them. But also, they observe and explore their home and family for the people whom they live with and what works people do.

The syllabus of EVS has been divided into six themes so as to introduce every aspect of learning which is considered important for the child at the primary level.
The six themes are:
Family and friends (including animals, plants) Food Water Shelter Travel Things we make and do. Integrated EVS has a goal of comprehensive development of an individual's social, physical, and emotional perspective.
Environmental studies are the scientific study of the environmental system and the status of its inherent or induced changes on organisms. It includes not only the study of physical and biological characters of the environment but also the social and cultural factors and the impact of man on environment.
Environmental study is an integrated discipline as it enables children to connect with nature and human made environment undertanding our dependence on the various components of environment, develop a holistic understanding of our environment .It also helps in developing a multidisciplinary perspective to understanding of our environmental issues/problems and appreciate the impacts of our daily activities on its integrity further it helps to develop favourable attitutes and habits to protect and preserve our environment.

It also provides the solutions of various problems like pollution and decrease of natural resources. An environmental scientist is working for ecological balance. Conservation of biodiversity as well as protection and regulation of naturalresources. In the scope of research and development, researchers are being done to control pollution to counter global warming, reduction of greenhouse gases adoption of endless energy resources. In scope of human health and sanitation, for healthy and disease free life, pure and hygienic environment is must so sanitation is necessary. scope of evs in social development, NGO'S and media are making effort in unfurling different awareness issues like pollution, conservation and awareness which results in making the masses aware of different aspects of the environment.
Environmental studies is the interdisciplinary studies, its also study large aspect of the environment, in this subject human related value are important.
Evs are integral part in studies. As it connects all the subjects like biology, physics, maths, sst and even the learning beyond the boundaries of textbook .
Eva is a multidisciplinary subject which help children explore and connect with nature along with human interaction.Italso focuses on the uses of natural resources such as water, plants etc

Environmental studies gain the intellectual and methodological tools to understand and address the crucial environment issues of our time and the impact of individuals, society, and the planet.
Environmental studies refers to organized efforts to teach how natural environments function and particularly how human beings can manage behaviour and ecosystem to live sustainably. It is a multi disciplinary field integrating disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science, atmosphere, mathematics and geography .EVS evolved not just as a discipline cutting across the traditional subject boundaries to help children understand their surroundings holistically, contrary to the common belief that an integrated approach to EVS may compromise the intent of the individual curricular objectives, which are distinct as per the nature of each subject. Environmental studies has been viewed as a core curricular area at the primary stage, which integrates science and social science by different National and curriculum frameworks from time to time over the last many decades. The integrated aspect is not just to reduce the curriculum load on young learners but it also enables them to view the world around holistically as per their developmental levels, inherent instincts and personalities.

Environmental studies refers to organised efforts to teach how natural environments function and particular how human beings can manage behaviour and ecosystem to live sustainably. It is a multi-disciplinary field integrating discipline such as biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science, atmospheric science, mathematics and geography. The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation states that Environment education is vital in implementing an inherent respect for nature amongst society and in enhancing public environmental awareness.
Environmental studies is a subject which maintain relationship between human being and natural environment. It provide a real and direct connection for students between the study of science and the surrounding around them Natural world and human impact, sustainable human life on the earth finite resources.Humanities entire life support system depends on the well being of all the environment factors.
Environmental studies embraces the school subjects which deals with the child's environment as in geography, nature study, Elementary science..... An integrated, thematic approach to environmental studies is a help to children in understanding and appreciating their environment.

Environmental studies is one of important subject through which we connects with environment. We slowly learn that our environment is very important for all living creatures and interdepence each other. The EVS subject is such a subject in primary level which take us in real nature. The students must know that how environment is important for us.
Environmental studies is an integrated subject because it covers all the features of physical as well as the biological environment. Eg. The theme on Food integrates all these - tasting, digesting, cooking, preserving techniques, farmers and hunger.
EVS is an integrated discipline as it is co-related with almost all the subjects or disciplines such as socio_cultural, socio_political, physics, chemistry, biology, anthropology, etc. EVS integrates 'learning in the environment', 'learning about the environment' and 'learning for the environment'. Hence, the content of EVS is very broad and ranges from using environment as a medium of learning and gather information and ideas to protect and conserve it.
Environmental studies is an integrated subject as it includes all the features of physical as well as biological environment. It is mainly an integration of science, social studies and environmental education. For example- lessons on family, society, equality, justice etc. in EVS curriculum are related to social studies ( civics ) and topics such as food, health and hygiene, germination of seeds are related to science subject.
Environmental studies for primary class should be a subject, which combines and circumscribes the concepts and theories from science, social science, and environment”.
Environment studies is an integrated discipline as it is related to all aspects of the environment and its components. Through the teaching of EVS, the children are exposed to the real situation in their surroundings to help them, connect be aware of appreciate and sensitized towards the prevailing.
Environmental Studies is an integrated discipline because it relates to each and every aspects of human environment,it combines both science as well as arts.
Environmental Studies is an integrated discipline as it encompasses the things related to our day today life. It is comprised of all other subjects in one which is being taught as many different disciplines in higher classes.
Environmental studies is an interdisciplinary academic fields. It maintain relationships in between human beings and natural environment. It refer to organised efforts to teach how natural environments functions and particularly how human beings can manage behaviour and ecosystem to live sustainable. So environmental studies is very important to developed awarness about the environment and it's problems.
Environmental Studies deals with every aspects of living beings. In NCF 2005 suggested that in this subject this books should contain the chapters made out of real life incidents. EVS is a multi-disciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. This subject consists of all the physical and biological factors that directly influence the survival, growth and development of living beings. R.Tsering.
Environmental studies deal with our daily lives and linked with our surrounding and in inevitably affect them. Our dependence on nature is so great that we cannot continue to live without protecting the earth environment resources.
Environmental studies pull from important topics of current civilization and apply aspects of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, engineering, anthropology, sociology, economics, management, ecology, etc. e.g environmental engineering studies focuss on design and technology for improving environmental Quality in every aspect.
It is said that sustainable development is only possible when we maintain the discipline with the environment

Environmental Studies is an independent curricular area from Class III and V. The primary stage, being the most crucial, demands designing and implementation of EVS curriculum in tune. Given this shift in global and national concerns it requires gearing the efforts on the process of curriculum development, planning and transaction in a manner that views a subject like EVS, which is interdisciplinary, as an approach as well. Over the years EVS evolved not just as a discipline cutting across the traditional subject boundaries to help children understand their surroundings but also as a discipline which encompasses natural, physical, social and cultural aspects, which children do not compartmentalize while interacting with it. EVS learning aims to help children acquire knowledge, skills and dispositions so that they become sensitive and responsible individuals. Also, it helps the children to not only be aware but also raise the issues related to equality, justice and respect for humans. For eg., The Chapter-3, Class IV, " From Testing to Digesting ", integrates all these- tasting, digesting, cooking, preserving techniques, farmers and hunger. This chapter does not contain information about the digestive system, but children's experiences have been used to build an underground understanding that the process of digestion begins in the mouth itself. Later in the chapter, through a description of the food habits of two contrasting children, the chapter tries to raise questions about what is ' good food ' and why do people who grow crops don't get enough to eat.
Environmental studies is an integrated discipline because, it is a broad field of study that includes the natural environment, built environment and the relationship between them.
Environmental studies is a multi disciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. It is an integrated subject which draws upon insights from science, social sciences and environmental education.
Environment studies is the subject that shows the importance of our environment. Give knowledge how to maintain the better relationships with the environment .It is said that sustainable development is only possible when we maintain the discipline with the environment.
Environmental Studies at the Primary stage envisages exposing children to the real situation in their surroundings to help them connect, be aware of, appreciate and be sensitised towards the prevailing environmental issues. Environmental studies integrates physical, biological and information sciences including ecology, biology, physics, chemistry, plant science etc. Therefore it is known as Integrated Discipline. Here's an example. A SNAKE CHARMER'S STORY, chapter 2, class III, Subject EVS. In this chapter social science and science have been integrated. Where cultural features of Kalbelia is depicting. These are- - Kalbelias move from one place to another carrying snakes in the baskets. - They treate snakes as their treasure. - They gift snakes to their daughters when they get marry. - Etc. Simultaneously the biological features of snakes are also depicting. These are- - Snakes are poisonous. - But not all snakes are poisonous. - Snake doesn't have ears. - It has two long curved hollow teeth called fangs through which poison is passed when a prey is bitten. - Snake poison is used to make medicines. - Snake has nostrils to breathe but smells through tongue. - etc.
Environmental studies is also referred to as an interdisciplinary field because it incorporates all information and ideas from multiple disciplines. It integrates physical, biological and information sciences. EVS includes the study of living organisms, the study of the earth's, the study of matter and energy, the study of chemicals and their interactions, and the study of populations.
Environmental studies is an integrated disciplines as it apply the great aspects of physics, biology etc. and applied to many realms e.g human health, social development, research and natural resources Sustentation and environmental management.
Environmental studies is a multidisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment. Environmental studies connects principles from the physical sciences, the humanities and commerce etc. I am taking a example of water. EVS have been teaching in an integrated way through the subject,General Science instead of teaching in it in the form of separate branches. For eg Theme 'water ' which is an important resource for the sustenance of all life forms on the earth. EVS being an interdisciplinary area seeks establishing linkages between the natural, and socio-cultural environment of the child. Concepts and issues related to "water are universal irrespective of any class, region or terrain so it help understand various environmental concepts and issues in a holistic manner. Therefore, 'water' can be a theme for EVS curriculum at Primary Level. For most of us EVS of every day use and also being essentially elementary and simple in comprehension.

The environment consists of sum of all the physical and biological factors that directly influence the survival, growth development and reproduction of organisms. Thus the Environmental Studies is known as Integrated Discipline. Here is an example A snake charmer's story, chapter 2 in class V EVS. In this chapter social science and science have been integrated. Where on the one hand it has been depicted cultural features of Kalbelia. These are 1 Kalbelia move from one place to another carrying snakes in bamboo basket. 2 They treate snakes as their treasure. 3 They gift snakes to their daughters when they get marry. 4 In Kalbelia dance they have movements similar to the dance of the snake. On the other hand the biological character of snake also depicted. These are 1 Snakes are poisonous. 2 Not all snakes are poisonous. 3 Snake does not have ears. 4 Snake has two long curve hollow teeth called fangs through which poison is passed when a prey is bitten. 5 Snake use nostrils to breathe but smells through tongue. 6 etc.

Language to be used in the book should not be formal , but it should be such that children can understand it easily.
For Example : For Teaching a topic : "Water" in EVS in Primary Classes, it should be taught in General way as resources and teach through using Poems etc But as soon as Children reaches to Class VI onwards the topic should be taught in terms of Science Subjects Like Composition of water, Physical and Chemical properties of Water etc
