i think we should create activity that students take part to participate so activities is like writing about different types of occupations that people are doing for their livelihood..because through this activity students are learn to understand the value of life people and work..and its enhance the students capabilities to deal the any situation of life.
ReplyDeleteThe class may be divided into groups of 5(five) students each and assign them to write about different vegetables in their notebooks. The students may be asked to survey about the vegetables grown in their locality. We will collect the notebook from each groups and discussed at length in the classroom about the vegetables.
ReplyDeleteI can give homework to ask their parent's source of income and work they are doing. Then tell one student to write down the type of work on black board by discussing with other students.By giving this activity I can give chance of survey, discussion about the occupation to the students.

Surveys, give real experiences, involving physically as well as mentally in subjects students get holistic experiences, they become first person narrators.

ReplyDeleteFor this activity, I think I choose a topic about plant and firstly I engage the students of class v to seeding a vegetable seed and look for two weeks and bring her in school and do a survey that plant, amazingly students get idea that how a plant grow. Let the students survey in their neighborhood and collect information. This way they come to know about various types of occupations and understand it deeply.
Surveying particular topic by the students will definately enhance their learning process ,for this activity we can divide the students in groups and give them the activity of seed germination and tell them to guide the seedling tray and note down the changes they have noticed from day one of seedling like how a plant grows from a seed,what are the requirements for growing a plant and finally after two to three weeks we can tell the students to bring the plants they have grown and discuss the seed germination topic and its related requirements for growing a plant.

Our goal is to transform how children learn,what they learn ,who they learn from. On the basis of a survey that will enhance learing i would choose the topic of culture and diversity in their locality . I will ensure that students are fully engaged in the process of collecting data and photographs of different culture and write about few unique traits about each culture ,i will moniter individual progress, construct meaning from the content learned and from the process of learning it ,and apply the learnings to other contexts and settings . This will help them connect this to their lives and other people around them ,provide utility values and build relatedness.

ReplyDeleteI would ask the childrens to survey water resources.At first i would ask them to form a group and collect data based on how much water is being wasted and used by a particular house? From where they fetch water? Are there any scarcity of water in their locality?Then I would ask the children to put the data in an organised manner. Activity-based learning encourages kids to be creative in the way they express their knowledge. This learning method provides students with the opportunity to express what they have learnt through the act of doing as well as through the act of verbal presentation.For a survey, I would first divide the students in the group of 5 members and ask them to visit a museum nearby to explore different coins which were used during earlier times.Also so to see carefully how they look like, which metal is used for making and what's engraved on the coins.
ReplyDeleteFor notebook based survey, I'll take the topic of food and nutrients and let the students ask each other about the food they consume in a particular day. I'll tell them to write down these things in the notebook. This will help to analyse their consumption of proper nutrients every day.

Teacher after necessary evaluation make a data base of the students attempts and draws some conclusion.
Through this conclusion he try to make understand to their student about the topic understand which helps teachers to draw desired learning outcome as expected for.
The students may be divided into groups of 5(five) and give them assignment of any topic such as about the flowers. They may be asked to survey in their locality about the different flowers grown. All the groups will submit the survey notebooks then the teacher may discuss at length about the topics. In this way the students may be motivated for some other topics as well.

ReplyDeleteI divided the students in small groups for notebook based survey/ events like natural disaster agriculture and livelihood, perspective of history geography etc. The learners will be able to analyse different phenomena like natural disaster, agriculture and livelihood from the perspective of history, geography, economic and political science.
Field trips of educational tours, educational surveys, visit to museums, artefact galleries etc. almost in everything we need note books for note making to memorise or we tend forget after sometimes. Surveys, give real experiences, involving physically as well as mentally in subjects students get holistic experiences, they become first person narrators.

ReplyDeleteI can arrange the field trips of educational tour, visit to the nearest museum s, temple etc. almost in everything we need note books for note down the historical importance of the visited place for making the memorise and photography can manage for better understanding which, we tend forget after tour/visit. Survey or tour will give us real experiences by cognitive, effective and psycho-motor. Students will develop his/her understanding the reality by 3H (Head, Heart and Hand) get holistic experiences, they will become good narrators in future for the society.

ReplyDeleteSurvey really enhances learning if a particular topic is assigned for it, all the students visits outside the classroom. Further individual understanding is received during the survey which help to write clear cut notes. Here since the students are physically involved in survey accrues knowledge instead of receiving which is more effective and enhancing learning.
After completion of chapter , making the students do collage work , collecting pictures and making scrap books can be done to make them learn .

History:-Historic figures and stories.
Science:-water, electrical supply, drainage, sewage, disposition, diseases etc.

ReplyDeleteI will give students to do some home work regarding their parents/neighborhood/teachers/rosdside vendor's occupation, wages, for livelihood what are the things they do, How many members are there in each family, who earn in family, etc etc to note down in note book.

Field survey education or learning trips always use to excite me as a student. For a notebook based survey we can divide students in four equal groups and ask them to collect information on various topics eg: collect the work natur of their family, society, environment ,economic activities etc. With the help of this kind of survey they will get more awareness of varies occupations, yearly income and social status etc. Thus a notebook based survey has a very beneficial effect of learning for the students.

2.Occupation 3.What are the activities in the comparison? 4.At what time they have to go from home and come back? 5.How do they reach out to work place 6.How much they are paid in a day or week /month 7.Do they get jobs regularly? Which month they get regularly? Why it is not regular? 8.Is income generated from work sufficient for family or not?
Many issues and challenges faced by people in different occupation will come up through this activity. Based on the survey, teacher can discuss with the students the different issues and challenges people face in their lives.

Students are to visit neighborhood house and collect information regarding the material and raw materials used in the construction of the house, time taken for construction, type of the house for example bungalow, stilt house, hut, tents etc to be recorded and maintain in the notes book. This enhance their learning through real life experience.
ReplyDeleteStudents will be grouped into 5 to 6 members heterogeneously. Each group will be assigned different task. One group will be assigned educational survey of their family members. Second group will be assigned to survey sanitation system of their locality. The third group will be assigned to survey the availability of water supply in their locality. They have to record their findings in the notebooks. After the completion of tasks each group will submit their notebooks in the class. I being teacher will assess the notebooks of each group. Notebooks will be exchanged among the groups. This way we can cover more than one topic.
